Wheeller Plays Exemplified has been designed to assist GCSE and AS level Drama candidates in the preparation of work for performance to an examiner.

The DVD consists of 18 extracts from Mark Wheeller plays such as; ‘Hard to Swallow’, ‘Too much Punch for Judy’, and ‘Missing – Dan Nolan’ which are performed by drama students and directed by Tim Ford (Director at The Birmingham Repertory Theatre).

Using Wheeller Plays Exemplified students can see examples of how devices such as, Physical Theatre, Monologue, Projected Images, Précis Theatre, Rhythm and Pace, Narration, Song can be used in the performance of devised and scripted performances.

The DVD also contains interviews with Mark Wheeller talking about his work. For the many teachers who currently use Mark Wheeller’s plays the extracts directed by professional director Tim Ford will be an excellent addition to their texts, and for those unfamiliar with his work the DVD is of particular use to illustrate alternatives to Naturalistic Drama .
