We have now produced a new and exciting CD Rom teaching resource for Hampshire Dance.

NRG: Be healthy through dance is a programme of creative dance ideas that directly address the Be Healthy outcome of Every Child Matters.

It has been devised to support the delivery of an effective and exciting scheme of dance activity with young people, whilst exploring healthy lifestyle choices. Supported by the Joint Investment Fund for the Arts, it was developed and trialed in nine schools in the Hampshire region, and for the first time the positive impact of dance on young people was quantified in groundbreaking research by the Dance Science Department at Laban.

As well as including practical warm up and cardiovascular ideas, NRG also has creative tasks focused around the workings of the body. It is aimed at 11 – 14 year olds (Key Stage 3) and has cross-curricular links with Science and PHSE.
